Icletta’s ICE-Sprint, a versatile, sporty, foldable trike which is available with and without suspension became finalist in the BranNew Award 2010, category Urban/Design. This Award is granted by the Bike-Expo fair in Munich.
Congratulations to Kirk Seifert, the head of Icletta, who is importing the ICE-trikes for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Icletta writes:
The ICE Sprint is a sporty trike with good curving stability. The seat height of only 20cm leads to a comfortably low center of gravity. The elegant lines of the frame lead to a maximized transfer of forces.
The Road Response Suspension – RRS technology enhances the trike’s comfort. It has 4cm suspension travel and therefore is optimal for use on roads. Bumpy roads become racing tracks. As with the rear suspension of the ICE models ICE Sprint and ICE Adventure, maintenance free elastomeres are used for the front suspension.
Equipped with carrier, lights and mud-guards, the sprint becomes a fast randonneur. With an opitionally available bucket seat (releasable as the series mesh seat), the sportive character of the ICE Sprint is underlined additionally
All ICE Modelle are equipped with the non-tool folding technique Compact Flat Twist – CFT. Folding is done in less than 60 seconds. The idea of aligning the foding joint such that the rear part is folded at right angle on the main frame. So you end up with an extremely small package and the ICE can easily be transported in the luggage compartment of a train, car or plane.
Interesting to see that the bike which won the award in this category – the upright “VanMoof” – would not even be allowed to ride it in Germany. It has only a rear brake; two independent brakes are required by German laws. The BIKE EXPO is open from 22. – 25.07.2010 on the Neue Messe München areal. From 24. – 25.07.2010 the fair is open to the public. You can find ICLETTA on the BIKE EXPO in Hal C3, in the BrandNew Village 122/633, Booth B 13
