Azub Folding Trike Concept

Azub Folding Trike  Azub published a video showing how the new folding trike, they presented on the Spezi is folded and separated into parts. According to the video, this is possible in less than 4 minutes.

One might argue that this is nothing you would want to do each morning when you enter your train to commute to work as you have to take of the chain from the chain wheel and also you separate the wheels and other parts.

However, I doubt that this is the main purpose of this concept. It is rather meant to make it possible to transport your trike over long distances (e.g. to your holiday location) with the plane, coach or car. Looking at the small space it needs after folding, I can only say: mission accomplished!

In its description of the video, Azub writes:

This concept of folding recumbent trike has been in our minds for a long time and we have racked our brains for hours and had lengthy debates over many of its solutions. And that was true for everyone from the chief Ales through designer Thomas and our marketing department, the boys in the assembly department, and the accountant. Our goal was simple – to make a tricycle, which could be easily passed into the trunk of a car or an elevator, but it could just as easily be passed into the case so that it could travel by train, bus or plane. And all this without any compromises, with still a very stiff frame, a minimum torsion of the rear suspension fork and excellent driving characteristics. It seems that we have achieved amazing results, even though a large and rigorous tricycle testing is still ahead. However, even today, we have many improvements in our minds that will soon be reflected in the prototypes to come and which will sooner or later be presented as a final product. You will be able to follow the news on our blog throughout the year.
