Hase-Bike news for 2010

Hase presented new developments for 2010 in two press releases and though this happened back in late October, I did not read much about it. As I assume that one ore the other of my readers might also not have heard of it, I summed up both product to a post here. The Kettwiesel, Hase’s well known delta-trike, received new hubs which can, according to Hase, be removed in a couple of seconds. Hase’s half-recumbent-half-upright tandem Pino is available as a pedelec now.If you like the Kettwiesel-trike but you found it too complicated to transport it in your car or you did not know how to store it, Hase found a solution for you now. They developed new hubs for the rear wheels. I did not see them live yet, but it seems as if six bolts on a wheel carrier which also hold the brake disc, connect into the hub. All this is fixed with a central screw, turned with an allen key. On the photos all this looks very solid, however, it is a proprietary system of course. So you are really bound to their hubs.

The Pino is now available as a pedelec. This means that it is equipped with a 250W electrical motor in the front hub which supports the drivers up to 25km/h. Hence, at least in Germany, no special registration is necessary. The 10Ah accumulator is attached releasably on the carrier and it takes 4.5h to load it. Alltogether the system results in an additional weight of 7kg
