Recommended Website 1: speedmachineadventures.blogspot.com

speedmachineadventure  Every here and then, I would like to present some interesting websites. Today it is not only one, but a couple of sites. Speedmachinist (as he calls himself) Lars Reisberg, who is living in Hamburg, runs his Blog at speedmachineadventures.blogspot.com.Lars is writing in German, so if your German is not very fluent, maybe you try an online-translation service.

On the one hand, this online diary is interesting, because the author writes entertainingly about his training schedule and does not forget to mention that a nice lady in his bed can reduce motivation significantly. Further, his thoughts about modifying his melon-yellow HP-Speedmachine towards a mint-green Bianchi-look are worth reading because they are so enjoyably odd. On the other hand, his blog becomes vitalised by his stirring travelogues on short tours he is carrying out alone or with other recumbent riders. A travel to the Baltic Sea, across Jutland or from Hamburg to Amsterdam: reading his posts, you always feel like looking forward to learning what the next change in his story will be; you enjoy the speedmachine adventure!

You will also find links to his big journeys. Lars visited Portugal, Sweden, Canada and Japan  with his bike and he prepared a blog for each of his tours. Again, droll experiences as the speaking toilet in Tokyo which he does not manage to get to flushing or the always-polite Japan citizens who are always very fond of meeting a German and always want to have a photo of him and his strange vehicle are an incentive to read this blog.

Likewise, reading his more reflective posts is compelling. Lars reports on the development he makes during his journeys like accepting that only his attitude towards rain, heat and long steep slopes decides on accomplishing them or not.

In summary, I can only recommend his blog. On a superordinate site (www.larsreisberg.net) you will not only find links to all mentioned blogs but also to a website containing biographical content and art works by Lars Reisberg.
