Hase wird ein neues E-Trike auf Basis ihres Kettwiesels präsentieren. Das KLIMAX 2K wird etwa 5600 Euro kosten und wird auf der EuroBike 2010 gezeigt (siehe Pressemitteilung). Ich persönlich finde, dass E-Bikes über das Themengebiet von BentBlog.de hinausgehen, daher habe ich bisher eher wenig über sie berichtet. Wie auch immer, dieses hier hat etwas spezielles: eine faltbare Verkleidung aus einem textilen Material. Und da das KLIMAX auf dem Kettwiesel basiert, sollte die Verkleidung auch auf dem nur-Pedal Trike passen.
Die Verkleidung ist eine Kooperation von Marec Hase (das Gesicht hinter Hase-bikes) und Johann Oost. Es kann in weniger als einer Minute angebracht werden und wird auf die Größe des Fahrers eingestellt. Der Stoff ist aus leichtem, wasserdichtem und robustem Textil aus Ripstop-Qualität gemacht. Wenn man es nicht braucht, kann man es zusammenfalten und in einer speziellen Tasche aufbewahren.
Aufgrund von Steckverbindungen kann die Verkleidung werkzeuglos montiert werden und sie ist designt, mittels ihrer Aerodynamik da Wasser auch von Gesicht des Fahrers fernzuhalten.
Ich freue mich schon darauf, die Verkleidung zu testen. Im speziellen brenne ich darauf, herauszufinden, wieviel Wasser von unter der Verkleidung auf einen tropft. Sie sieht nach einem interessanten Ansatz zum Thema Wetterschutz aus.
At first i didnt think much of this idea, because it completely forgot the other important parts of a proper velomobile. Like not getting wet from below, a completely protected chain and carrying cargo resting at the bottom of the velomobile. And this design looks like the cover can be catched by the wind in picture 5.
It should be possible to extend this design with a lightweight bottom. Either from some soft fabric, or perhaps carbon fiber which is always attached. Then you just drive with it open on sunny days, and when you need it you put on this cover.
This could make a good touring “velomobile” because it has no bottom, it must be much more offroad capable. And it will keep you dry from bad weather while still allowing you to get fresh air to ventilate your legs from under the cover.
I would like something below too. No need for monococque stiff design though, more of the same material would be fine. Make it just as easy to take off and to mount as the top and that’s it.
