Ich persönlich glaube ja, dass die Mehrheit der Liegeradfahrer Liegeräder wegen des höheren Komforts fährt. Nun gibt es aber natürlich die aktive kleine Minderheit derjenigen, die an hoher Geschwindigkeit interessiert sind. Daher hat Lars von Speedmachine Adventures einen kleinen Wettbewerb gestartet.
Er fragt: Wer ist der schnellste Liegeradfahrer? Was er BentCojones 2010 nennt, ist der Versuch zu sehen, ob Ihr die “Eier habt, der schnellste zu sein”.
Die Regeln sind einfach:
- Ihr müsst ein Liegerad fahren
- Es muss ein Foto von Euch und dem Liegerad nach vollbrachter Schussfahrt geben
- Ebenso ein Foto vom Bike-Computer “max speed” mit dem km/h-Wert
- Schickt den Ort Eurer Geschwindigkeitsübertretung als Google-Maps-Link an Lars

Nice idea. Do I understand this right when I read there’s no limit on how one achieves that speed? Downhill, wind in the back or riding behind a motorcycle? As long as one pedals himself.

Going downhill isn’t a test of your speed on a bent. Pedaling on a flat road would be the real test of speed and not drafting. My granny can go fast downhill. Besides that, Sam Whittingham is already the fastest at over 83 mph on a flat road

it is rather kind of a fun-contest. Means, if your granny uses a recumbent, makes a photo of herself, the bike and the bike computer with the max-km/h and she sends all this with a google map link to Lars, your granny can be awarded with the bentcojones title 2010…
